Twine from the same range has been used to illustrate wind swept clouds. The cardstock stickers make for sweet embellishments, with the title assembled from letters out of the word ‘Wanted’ on the sticker sheet. Danielle enjoyed the combination of earthy tones with bright primary colours in this range.
October Afternoon’s Sasparilla range is based on a cute Western theme, but is versatile enough in design to be used for all sorts of subjects!nike air presto ireland Here Danielle has used the Stagecoach timber patterned paper as a background, adding a touch of gesso beneath October Afternoon’s Sprinklers spray inks.
Danielle took the opportunity to show a different style using the same Sasparilla range from October Afternoon. Here her background involves Sprinkler inks, gesso, paper napkins and white gel pen. http://www.nikeairmaxtheaireland.nu In addition to the patterned papers, Danielle has used Sasparilla cardstock stickers and alphabet stickers to embellish the page, along with some loosely knotted twine and lace from the trims pack. Handwriting continues the arty, whimsical feel.
The soft feminine colours in the October Afternoon Farmhouse range were used perfectly by Kim to scrapbook a page about her weight loss journey. Yellow and Grey is a beautiful colour combination and the touches of pink just pop from the page.

Jaime Warren has used the Sidewalks range from October Afternoon beautifully in this layout. Thanks for sharing this beautiful layout with us Jaime.
Finally, check out this cute layout from Marcy Penner on the October Afternoon design team. She has devised an inspired pie chart detailing how her family spent their time on their last holiday. You can see a tutorial for this layout here.
Suz Doyle wanted a double page spread full of photos of her Christmas Day and created this by printing them all on two A4 sheets. This meant that embellishment needed to be minimal, so she created a simple garland along the bottom of her photos. This gave her room for playing in a limited area, and so she added gorgeous chip stickers and embellies from the October Afternoon range, nike air presto ireland Tim Holtz facets backed with the co ordinating papers and bits of trima nd lace, mostly from Websters. She added different coloured glitters to outline the embellishments which help them echo the spirit of christmas baubles or decorations.
Suz had some fun with the October Afternoon’s wonderful 5 range of patterned papers and embellishments in this layout. Kathie’s son, Jamie, started school at the beginning of this year. In this, her first “school page”, she has beautifully captured his excited, yet apprehensive expression as he looks to his father for reassurance on his first school day. Her departing vision of him settled with his class at the feet of his teacher is captured in the smaller photo and will be forever imprinted in her memory.
Kathie’s used the Shape Stickers from October Afternoon’s Report Card collection as the focal product on her page. She loves the old style imagery of these stickers;http://www.nikeairprestoireland.nu perhaps because they are reminiscent of the illustrations in the school books she was reading when she first started school all those years ago. Kathie’s mixed in some of the Schoolhouse collection too, with a snippet of the Flashcards paper at the bottom of the page.
We thank Georgia Keays for the above two layouts as you can see she rocks the October Afternoon papers with style! We love the balance of patterned papers and embellishments being the perfect backdrop for her photos and the little details like the negative of the cloud diecut above the title in No Fanks. Thanks Georgia your style is superb.
We also spotted this gorgeous page by Treesa Young, Perth. Treesa wanted to create a summery layout to feature some photos of her son on his new slip n slide. October Afternoon’s Seaside papers were a perfect backdrop for the vivid colours in the photographs. This is such a happy, colourful page! Thanks for sharing it with us Treesa!
Finally, we saw this amazing layout while browsing the galleries and just had to share it with you. Belinda Venables, Perth, has used the Campfire line to make this incredible house.http://www.nikeairprestoireland.nu From the fine penwork detail, to the opening and closing front door and the little critters Belinda has cut from the patterned paper, the entire project is simply irresistible.
At a recent birthday party Kathie’s son attended, he got the chance to see a whole load of farm animals, care of a travelling farm that arrived to entertain the children. nike air max thea ireland There were animals ranging from puppies right through to an owl and a baby crocodile. For the title, Kathie’s used the versatile Mini Market Alpha Stickers from the Thrift Shop range.
October Afternoon is such a lovely range to work with. Sue kept her page relatively simple and utilised the Cherry Hill Die cuts to create her cluster of embellishments to compliment the cute photos of her daughter Lily, playing at the beach. Sue sanded around the edges of the die cuts and also shaped and layered them to add interest. A gorgeous Prima flower and butterfly completed the page.
We spotted this layout from Tanya Tahir when it was featured on the October Afternoon Facebook page. It’s just adorable! Tanya’s used the little boy flying a kite, and his dog, which are from the sticker sheet in the Fly a Kite range. The addition of a cute little pennant banner makes for a totally sweet boys page.
Iris has such a fun style of scrapbooking and uses the October Afternoon Cherry Hill products so well. I love her use of the bird die cuts to compliment her title. Thanks so much Iris for allowing us to share your pages.
An article in The Advertiser newspaper recently reported that young women are flocking to homespun crafts like sewing, cooking, knitting, gardening and even raising chooks in the family back yard. There is a trend towards the hand made, towards home grown, towards repurposing the old.
Kathie’s noticed this homespun trend in the scrapbooking industry too. Several manufacturers have lines that reflect the focus towards home grown, farm fresh, nike air max thea ireland handmade, thrift shopping and wholesome cooking. Browsing through the galleries, it would seem that scrappers are welcoming the theme with open arms.
Soft floral papers and fabrics are being pleated and ruffled onto layouts, old coupons peek out from behind vintage toned photographs, images from old sewing pattern envelopes are being paired with machine stitching, pennant banners drift across the page, and pretty checks and ginghams abound.
In this first layout, Kathie’s used Jenni Bowlin’s Homespun range. The warm vivid colours of line really do say “homespun” in and of themselves. Then, to accentuate the homespun feel even further, Kathie’s added old coupons and newsprint, chipboard buttons (reminiscent of old bottle tops), fresh gingham, ruffled fabric trim, a little pennant banner and loads of machine stitching.
